Broadcasting Square opened in 2001 and is the largest open air shopping center in Berks County, Pennsylvania. Broadcasting Square is the dominant retailing focal point for the entire trade area. The center includes 614,630 square feet of major national retailers on 85 acres with 4,118 parking spaces. Broadcasting Square contains a total of 51 tenants, including 16 restaurants. These tenants are located in the main anchor strip, a separate 46,000 square foot multi-tenant building, and on 13 pad sites.
Target and Weis Supermarket, a major regional grocery chain, are the primary anchors. There are 10 junior anchors consisting of Marshall’s, Ross, Bed Bath & Beyond, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Michael’s Crafts, Babies R Us, Office Depot, Barnes & Noble, Party City and Petco. In addition, the center contains another 39 smaller specialty stores and restaurants with such familiar names as Sleepy’s, Sherwin Williams, Verizon, AT&T, Dress Barn, Famous Footwear, Ulta Cosmetics, Vitamin Shoppe and Men’s Wearhouse.
